Haulover Park Beach

Haulover Park Beach is located between Sunny Isles Beach and Bal Harbour just north of South Beach. They have fenced off a clothing optional section at the northern end of the beach, so you can't miss it. Gays will find a tolerant, relaxed, fashionable atmosphere north of the lifeguard stand. The beach is known for its absolutely sandy (no rocks) bottom, and there is an offshore sand plateau that allows for some serious ocean swimming and standing.

Hands off Johnny, he's mine

Below is my favourite waiter from the club Score. His name is Rodrigo, he is Brazilian and a fantastic/beautiful man. Only moved to South Beach a few months ago which probably explains why he didn't seem to have any attitude. And boy can he dance.

Cell phone is on the blink

My cell phone has finally died in the arse. The screen doesn't work so I can't write or read text messages, I cant recall names/numbers out of the address book, and its annoying the hell out of me. I didn't want to have to buy a new phone until I got back to Australia. Over christmas day I received a number of text messages. If you did send me one, the reason I haven't responded is due to the above. The same reason why I haven't called alot of people, as I dont have numbers written done.

Merry Christmas to you all.

South Beach - Miami Florida

UPDATE: photo's have now been uploaded (30th Jan 2007).

I'm finally in South Beach and having a ball. The sun is out, the weather is warm and the men are gorgeous. It's like all the models of the world have desended on South Beach for a convention. Im loving the eye candy while lying there recovering form the Vodka shots that Johnny and I did the previous night.

A group of my San Francisco frineds came over for x-mas. Last night we went to a fancy restaurant where the atmosphere and the food were unbeliveable. I thought it to be a fantastic way to spend x-mas. I'll have to load up the photos later when I have access to a computer where I can upload the pics.

Stick-em Up

Today started like no other day for me. I got up around 9.30am, had a couple of cups of coffee, watched some morning T.V talk shows and then showered around midday. I decided that while showering that I would use the time to catch up on some grooming, so therefore my time in the bathroom took a little longer than usual. While under the water I could hear banging of doors and I presumed it was people coming and going from the bedroom. AS I stepped out of the shower there was a loud knock at the bathroom door, so I replied 'Im just getting out of the shower'. Then there was a thump thump thump on the door. Thinking it was just an impatient resident and that there were other bathrooms that they could be using, I replied 'alright Ill just be a moment. To that came a furious round of banging on the door with the cries of 'This is the police, open the door. Soaking wet and with my towel seductively draped around me, men in uniform who wouldn't, I opened the door. There was at least half a dozen of them standing in the common area. I wished my first thoughts were 'its not my birthday, who sent the strippers, but I didn't have time as I was instructed to step out of the bathroom and into the common area where they then I was told to take a seat. The only other person, besides all the cops and I, was another resident who had been handcuffed. So I was made to sit there dripping with water in only a towel. Anyway this guy that they had in custody had apparently skipped bail, but then they interrogated me about who I was, why I was there, why was that guy in the building and how did I know him. In hind sight I should have done a Sharon Stone maneuver from Basic Instinct while answering the questions. Not once during all this did management come up and support me while I was being detained soaking wet and practically naked, or afterwards to talk to me about what happened.

I could have easily have let it all go if I was able to lye on the beach in the sun, but since being in Fort Lauderdale it has been nothing but overcast and raining. But on the upside I am tonight going out with the couple from here that I met via my Connexion web page. They went to Sydney a number of months back and asked for ideas on where and what to do. Karen I sent them to SLIDE and told them to ask for you. They went and they said that it was their most favorite place, but I don't think they asked for you. Since then we have kept in contact and now I will be spending the weekend with them and their friends. By the pictures on their Connexion page they are good looking guys, and good looking guys usually have good looking friends. I wonder if any of them are single?

Rain Rain Go Away

Woke this morning to hurricane 'What the Fuck'. It was pissing down with rain, the surf was as rough as buggery, and I don't know how the wind didn't lift the building up and drop us onto the Yellow Brick Road in the Land of OZ. By late afternoon the gale force wind had died off and the rain was on and off. Which meant every time I stepped out to go somewhere when it wasn't raining, half way there it would start to rain and I had no umbrella or shelter to get under.

My neighbourhood - Ft Lauderdale

The hotel next to my hostel

My hostel

Fort Lauderdale - Florida

I'm back on the road again, and have left Austin and the many people I met behind. The trip here was pretty uneventful considering I had to catch two planes and two buses to get to the hostel here in Fort Lauderdale. I was looking forward to the sun and the sand after surviving almost two weeks of sub-zero temperatures in Austin. So today I will be working on those tan lines.

Last night I had to share a room with an older guy from Canada in a bedroom of four beds. It was just him and I. He snored, and boy did he snore. I couldn't sleep and then at 3.30pm he gets up, switches on the light and proceeds to pack his bags, shower and get dressed. After noticing that I was awake he proceeded to tell me that he was heading to Key West and wanted to get a jump on the mornings traffic. QUEEN! as if I care. He should have packed his bags before going to bed and got dressed in the common area. I now, so far, have the whole room to myself, and I hope it stays that way.

There are a few cute boys staying here, but that's what they are, just boys. I reckon they range from 18-22 years of age. Then at the other spectrum there are a lot of oldies here too, male and female, who appear to be long term residents.

I think I'll hi the bars tonight and see what this town has to offer

Couple of extra photos from Austin
