Day 2 - Calico Ghost Town & Las Vegas

Today we travelled south through the great farmlands of the fertile San Joaquin Valley. It is the state's top agricultural producing region, sometimes called "the nation's salad bowl" for the great array of fruits and vegetables grown in its fertile soil. Calico ghost town carried us back in time to an authentic silver mining town of the Old West. Carefully reconstructed to recreate the spirit of Calico's Old West past. We left California and travelled to Las Vegas, Nevada " the entertainment capital of the world ". We stayed overnight in Las Vegas. Our hotel was the Excalibur, an old castle in design.
