Splendid West Tour

After returning to San Francisco after my tour north up to Vancouver Canada via Portland and Seattle, I spent the following two weeks relaxing and planning my next course of action. I decided a road trip was in order so that I could take in some of the inland sights. I wanted to see the canyons and the national parks and the only way I was going to be able to do this was by going on a bus tour. I researched tours over the internet and found that they were very costly with an average price tag of USD 2,500. This was unthinkable on my backpackers budget, so I headed into the Castro and found a little travel agentcy and sat down with the travel agent and talked about what I wanted to do. After a couple of days the travel agent called me with exactly what I was looking for and at the right price. It was only a small tour group of nine people plus the driver. I did think that I was going to end up with a group of blue rinse ladies or non englishing speaking Japanese, but I wanted to go to these places and this was the only way to do it. Much to my relief the group was nothing like I thought it would be. In fact it was a great bunch of people and I'm so happy that I did it. It was a six day tour starting in San Francisco and ending in Las Vegas. I decided to add on four nights in Vegas at the end so that I could take in all the glitz and glamour.
