Kate and Andy Arrive

Kate and Andy arrived on Monday (June 5th). It was fantastic to see them. They have been traveling through Eygt and Africa for the past six months. Now we will be spending time in NYC, Chicago and San Francisco together, a total of about two weeks. That afternoon we boarded a ferry and went on a two hour city lights harbour cruise. It was a great way of seeing the city from the outside. It was a top evening and I great way to catch up with kate and Andy again. That night Kate, Andy, Kevin and his friend Parker, and myself headed to a wine bar for a bite to eat. Bottle after bottle of red wine was consumed. We all got quite tippsy and only a selected few remember leaving. Before we knew it it was midnight and we were back at Kevins with Andy and Parker dancing in the kitchen, Kevin playing Dj and mixing more drinks, and Kate and I climbing out the lounge room window onto the fire escape so I could have a smoke. I didn't get a chance to finish my smoke before the neighbours were yelling abuse out their windows telling Kate and I to shut up.

On the Tuesday Kevin worked and Kate, Andy and myself headed into downtown and then spent the day slowly making our way uptown back to Kevins. Our first stop was to see the 'hole in the ground' or known as Ground Zero. After all these years it just looks like a normal contruction site hole in the ground. We shopped for clothes then had a bite to eat. We then headed to the Rockerfeller Centre to take in the views from the viewing floor, 67 stories up.

That night we headed to a BBQ restaurant. The food was not all that great, but was a typical American sized meal. In other words it was a ridiculous amount of food. I hate waste, so I forced every piece down and I can tell you I felt the sickest that I have in a long time. Why do Americans do this to themselves? Andy shared a meal with Parker, and between the two of them they couldn't finish it.

Wednesday we hired a car and Kevin drove us up to the Hamptons. It pissed down with rain all bloody day, thus we could do much but sit in the car. But this was better than being stuck in doors at Kevins place driving him mad. At least we were out and about and seeing the country side of Long Island.
